Trick Or Treat

Because we found a costume that Aayla was excited about wearing, we decided to take her to a local mall for some trick or treating. She had fun and even started to say "trick or treat" to the people handing out candy. She was more interested in eating the candy than walking around to get more so we weren't there for too long :) Lots of people recognized her costume too... Dora the Explorer, of course!!

Ugh... sorry about the underlined text. I couldn't get it off!!

The Alphabet Song

My mom has a video tape of little kids singing different songs that Aayla loves to watch. It is crazy how much she remembers. The alphabet song is not one of our regulars so imagine our surprise when she belted it out for us tonight! She missed a few letters and repeated some, but for the most part, she got it! Oh... it is so fun to see our little girl grow!!

Making Of The Jack-o-Lanterns

We attempted to paint Aayla's pumpkin but the finger paint didn't really show up. I think Aayla had more fun painting on the newspaper anyway! So I washed off the pumpkin and we decided to carve it like Daddy's. So, last night we had a pumpkin carving party!

Aayla loves her pumpkin! (She is kissing it!)

She seemed very concentrated while painting her pumpkin.

Aayla was excited to see the newly carved pumpkins and was happy with the end result...

The Not So Spooky Halloween Carnival

We tried to get Aayla to wear her Cookie Monster costume to the carnival today to no avail! She had been talking about being Cookie Monster for a couple of weeks now and seemed excited. I thought she would love wearing it... oh how wrong I was. We never even got it on her... she whined and wiggled her way out before I could even get it over her head! We still had fun at the carnival though!!

I think her favorite part of the day was sitting on Daddy's lap eating peanut butter crackers after we got home.

The Great Pumpkin Patch Adventure

We had an adventurous trip to the pumpkin patch this morning. We visited the animals in the big red barn. We saw hundreds of pumpkins, squash, and other vegetables. Aayla had lots of fun finding her way through the mini corn maze and the hay maze. She makes a pretty cute scarecrow too!

She also enjoyed the wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch. She loved looking at all the pumpkins and wiping the dirt off them (after trying to pick them up regardless of how big they were).

At last, after much searching, we find the perfect pumpkins! Don is going to carve his and Aayla is going to paint hers. Stay tuned for the final products..

We Miss You Daddy!

Don is out of town this week on a business trip so it's just the girls for a few days. We had a fun day at tumble class and then a trip to OMSI to hang out with the boys, Grandma, and Aunt Jody. Below are some pictures of Aayla modeling her new hat and mittens that Aunt Jody got for her. Hugs and kisses to you Daddy!!

Date Night

Don and I had a wonderful night out last night. We saw Ky-Mani Marley at the Crystal Ballroom. There wasn't too many people at the show (being a Wednesday night and all) but Ky-Mani rocked the house! He gave a more than impressive show considering the small crowd! We love us some reggae!! Thanks Grandma for keeping Aayla overnight so we could enjoy ourselves!!

Aayla's Favorite Song

For the past couple of weeks I have tried unsuccessfully to video record Aayla singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Every time I turned the camera on, she would get shy and only sing a couple of words. Last night I told her she could hold the camera while she sang. It worked!! So, you can hear her singing, just no visual to go along with it!

Kids Club

Aayla and I met Grandma, Aunt Jody, Lucas and Owen at Kids Club today. The kids had a blast...

After a couple of iffy rides down the slide, Aayla learned to flip over midway down for an easier landing!!
